Cardiovascular RN

The Imaging Services RN provides quality nursing care to the patients in the Imaging Services Department.
Under the direction of the radiologist or cardiologist, assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient clinical needs and responses to diagnostic, interventional, cardiovascular and therapeutic procedures.
Monitors patients requiring moderate sedation within the department.
Communicates with physicians about changes in patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring.
Is able to provide moderate sedation safely and effectively to imaging patients.
Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in the patient's condition.
Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Takes call according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours Interacts & communicates professionally with patients, families, and co-workers to maintain a positive environment.
Assists radiologists, cardiologists, and technologists with invasive procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies dysrhythmias, and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
Demonstrates knowledge of fluid and electrolyte management.
Maintains emergency equipment in Imaging Services and the Cardiac Cath Lab to include oxygen, suction, stethoscope, and blood pressure cuff.
Checks daily for the integrity of crash carts and defibrillators.
Collaborates with central scheduling to add patient procedures to the daily worklist; ensures outpatients receive pre-procedure instructions as needed.
Ability to perform waived testing (Point-of-care testing) and maintain competency assessments per Clinical Laboratory's and the patient care unit's policies and procedures, takes appropriate action based on tests results.
Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties; maintains PAR levels including scanning each item used out of inventory.
Wears identification and radiation dosimetry badges while on duty, uses time system correctly to punch in or out and adds call as needed.
Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean.
Attends department meetings, annual review and department in-services as scheduled.
Read all department meeting minutes.
Maintains hospital requirements, policies, and standards on confidentiality.
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred.
Basic computer knowledge, including navigation through EMR, PACS, & RIS.
Work Requirements:
Graduation from a School of Nursing with current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act.
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification mandatory.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or completed within six (6) months of hire.
Educational Requirements:
One year of Imaging/IR/Cath lab/ICU experience required.
Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
