Job Summary :
Cares for patients aged neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric with a variety of medical/surgical problems at various developmental levels; including patients with developmental delays. Patients are from both traditional and non-traditional family structures with a variety of sociocultural and educational backgrounds.
The Registered Nurse is responsible to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients. The Registered Nurse demonstrates competency in nursing practice as outlined in the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. The Registered Nurse must be trained to provide care for patients in their primary department.
Essential Duties :
Assesses and interprets patient status/information based on knowledge of growth/development and age; recognizes basic changes based on the assessment.
Prioritizes, initiates, and delegates appropriate interventions based on assessed patient need.
Demonstrates ability to administer medication and treatments safely and effectively based on age and development of patient.
Demonstrates the ability to use, maintain, and troubleshoot patient care equipment.
Initiates discharge planning based on assessed needs and follows through as appropriate.
Completes all patient care documents according to policy (i.e., Nursing Notes, Admission Assessments, MAR''s, Restraint Document, etc.).

Qualifications
Education :
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
BSN will be required after five years of employment.
License/Certification :
Active RN license in the state.
BLS required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support required.
After 2 years of employment, strongly encouraged to pursue certification in specialty area

Weekends Required: Every Third

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
