Examples of Work:
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a self-motivated professional to join the Human Resources and Development team at the Grand Island Veterans Home (GIVH). The successful candidate will be a strategic partner; a responsive service provider, and a credible trusted advisor to the workforce and its representatives. This person will facilitate HR processes in the areas of recruitment and selection including strategies, structures and approaches for recruiting and securing the most qualified candidates for direct care staff, nursing and other facility positions. This position will work in the community to promote GIVH and maintain a positive relationship with recruitment partners. The successful candidate will respond to questions about the facility and the benefits available to State of Nebraska employees. The successful candidate will develop screening and selection tools; participate at career/job fairs; advise employees and supervisors on employment laws. This position will also become familiar with the other functions and provide additional support to the Human Resources Office.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Two years of experience performing human resource/personnel work such as recruiting and orientating new employees; processing personnel/payroll transactions and maintaining related databases; or processing or assisting with grievances, disciplinary actions, and related fact-finding. OR: one year of coursework or training in human resource management, personnel administration, or employee/labor relations, or other administrative discipline with emphasis in human resource management, personnel administration or employee/labor relations.
PREFERRED: Bachelors degree in a related field and work experience in a human resources setting with some responsibility for recruitment. Experience and/or education pertaining to advertising or marketing. Experience using a variety of computer software applications to include, Word, Excel and Outlook, and internet use. Experience with development of interview and selection tools. Experience in making presentations to the public.
OTHER: Valid driver''s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Knowledge of personnel practices, procedures and terminology; recruitment, interviewing, and hiring practices. This position will maintain confidentiality; understand federal personnel/employment laws, benefits and general labor/employee management relationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
