Food Service Worker

Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Works on the tray line during meal service to assist with the preparation of meal trays, including placing items on trays such as silverware, domes, and beverages. Passes trays and nourishment to patients, visitors and others, following patient safety standards, and using excellent customer service skills to assist patients with meal service. Picks-up soiled trays and dirty dishes and return them to the kitchen and wash and sanitize them using dish machine equipment. Scrubs, washes, and sanitizes pots and pans. Uses a floor scrubber and other cleaning equipment. Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen, by following established guidelines and cleaning schedules for food safety, personal hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety. Follows menus, task assignment sheets, Nutrition and Food Service procedures and standards for quality service, safety, sanitation, and security. Contributes to a patient-centered culture by preparing quality food items. Perform other duties as necessary. Work Schedule:

Employee expends up to moderate energy in carrying trays, pushing tray carts and other carts, frequent lifting of food containers weighing 10-30 pounds, stacking dishes, and mopping floors. Spends significate amount of time standing and walking. Tray carts may be pushed long distances including corridors with ramps and sharp turns. Occasionally lifts up to 40 pounds. Duties require continuous standing, walking, and bending. Subject to pressure of completing assignments in accordance with scheduling of activities and close time schedules. Employee may be scheduled to work the early, late, or relief shift. Due to the nature of the food service environment, required to work in areas which may be uncomfortably humid, hot working surfaces, and extreme temperatures in the hot kitchen, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, and while accessing outdoor garbage and recycling dumpsters. They will need to complete frequent hand washing and may have an increased risk of cuts, bruises, and burns. They must use caution when working near wet floors. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
